A Scared Dog May Do This With Their Tail.....

A dog may put his tail between his legs when frightened or anxious. This action is sometimes seen when a dog is uncomfortable around another dog. The tail between the legs is literally an action designed to block off access to the smell of the dogs scent around the anal glands.

You may see this action if a dog is nervous or uncomfortable around a new dog that is keen to sniff their scent or as a submissive action when facing a threatening situation.

Be sure to take things slowly and gently around an anxious or frightened dog as they may lash out or bite unexpectedly in a fearful situation.
